April 2018 saw the co-authored publication of an additional collection of poems and short stories for us: The Bottle Kiln. As suggested the stories are narrative fictions, the poems more like poetic narratives that hover as they do, somewhere between poetry and prose. Each page carries an illustration either in the form of a photo-graphic or drawing. As described on the back cover, among themes taken on are: loves lost; tyrannical bosses; possibly the wettest water in the North; humongous legendary fish; real factory apprentices; local land marks; canals and edible delicacies; errant paperboys; wannabe guitar heroes; and even the supernatural as the authors explore our experiences of growing up, working and living in the Potteries and the wider North-West. Available from Waterstones.
